Nowhere is an experiment in creative freedom, participation and cash-free community, conceived, built, experienced and returned to nothing by the participants. Created by a diverse, artistic global community, Nowhere is unique.
Nowhere is based on 10 core principles which are based around the core principles of Burning Man. It is held in the Spanish dessert in a place call Los Monegros. You can find out more about nowhere here
I have been going to Nowhere since 2022 and in 2023 I wanted to get more involved, so I joined the comms team. In the comms team I helped out mainly with social media for the burn, as well as email campaigns.
See below the things I put together for them; the Nowhere 2023 branding, updating the text in a previously designed Survival Guide, wristband design and the events guide (also known as the What Where When Guide), as well as social media content put out in the run up to and during the burn.
I first got involved in Nowhere when I went as a consumer to their regional burningMan event in 2022. I then got to know the directors of the event and joined the communications team in February 2023.
After joining the comms team, I was mostly managing the social media output for the event, putting out around 1-2 posts a day, as well as managing the Facebook group.
I also designed the word mark for the 2023 event, as well as the “What Where When guide”, essentially a printed guide to what was going on on each day of the 7 day event.
I also designed the event wristbands, taking the previously designed assets from the WWW guide, survival guide and social media and applying them to a wristband for both 18+ and under 18’s.
